Education is a right for all, not a privilege for the few.

The Claretiano Para Sa Mga Isko ni Gallardo Campaign is a collaboration between the Claret School QC GS93 and HS97 Alumni Association Inc. and the Claretian Missionaries – Fr. Rhoel D. Gallardo, CMF Province, which aims to bolster the Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Scholarship Foundation.

The Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Scholarship Foundation is a scholarship program of the Claretian Missionaries that grants educational subsidies to indigent students in Basilan, Saranggani, Zamboanga, and Leyte. The scholarship is named after Fr. Rhoel D. Gallardo, CMF, a Roman Catholic Claretian missionary priest martyred in Basilan, the Philippines. He was dedicated to building Christian-Muslim relations and helping the poor in Basilan.

Fr. Rhoel D. Gallardo, CMF was killed in Basilan in 2000 by the Abu Sayyaf group. On March 20, 2000, the Abu Sayyaf group stormed the campus of Claret School in Tumahubong in Basilan and kidnapped Fr. Gallardo along with 52 others, including teachers and school children. He was martyred for protecting his co-captives, especially the women and children, during the hostage situation.

Adhering to the principle, “education is a right for all, not a privilege for the few”, the Claretian Missionaries – Fr. Rhoel D. Gallardo, CMF Province envisions to extend its support to as many indigent students as possible. The Claretiano Para Sa Mga Isko ni Gallardo Campaign aims to support that vision by reaching out to the Claret School community of students, teachers, and alumni to help raise funds for the Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Scholarship Foundation.

We encourage members of the Claret School community and their friends and family to be part of the campaign. We believe that it is in our hearts and minds to help make education more accessible to less privileged members of our society, as guided by the life and teachings of Saint Anthony Mary Claret, the Claret School motto, scientia maxime cum virtute (knowledge is best with virtue), and the words of our alma mater song:

Embrace virtue, we must
Spread the truth, we shall;
Love justice, ‘til we die;
Hope and peace to this world impart!
